The last Tynemouth book fair of the year took place yesterday. It was a busy day and once again I had many people asking multiple questions about their objects. Don’t forget to look at or download my leaflet, ‘Protecting your paper objects in the home’ which can be found in the left hand main menu and hopefully will answer many of your questions.
It was turning a little chilly as Polly Bird (bookbinder) and I packed up our stall for the final time for 2011. We’ll miss the book fair over winter, but the chill reminded me that there is only so much coffee you can drink in a day to keep warm!
Find a photo below of our stall. This time I brought with a few extra items that people have often asked me about; Japanese papers, brushes and wheat starch paste, (adhesive). I hope you enjoyed seeing and touching some of the materials conservators use.
The next book fair is scheduled for Sunday April 22nd 2012. As always, feel free to email me any questions or photos before then or drop by my studio. Thank you!
