When these two drawings arrived into the studio they had been stored rolled up for many years. Old, hastily applied repairs were causing distortions, strain and discolouration. Careful removal of the repairs revealed another document had been cut up, pasted and used. The fragments were re-assembled, revealing text which related to the origin of the drawing, before being returned to the client.
As the client preferred the smaller drawing to be prepared for flat storage and the larger drawing for rolled storage, a conservation-grade roll was custom-made.
