I’m really excited to go and see what promises to be a fantastic exhibition of Japanese prints at York Art Gallery, ‘Making Waves: The Art of Japanese Woodblock Print‘.
The exhibition opens on 27th February 2026 and will feature a loan of the very famous print ‘Katsushika Hokusai’s The Great Wave‘ (oh, you know that one, even if you’re not sure that you do)!
To complement the event, a special Japanese-themed area will be planted in the beautiful gardens outside. I love the co-ordination of art spilling out into the gardens and the interaction this can bring for all age groups.
What better way to celebrate the advent of Spring than to venture along to explore the colour and vibrancy of prints and plants? It’s definitely on my list.
